What is AC supply and DC supply
There are mainly
two types of Electric supply
1. AC
2. DC
Electricity is
generated in the form of AC(alternating) at generating station/ power station.
But what is mean
by AC supply ?
AC Supply :
The quantity which
changes its value as well as direction (polarity changes positive to negative)
continuously with respect time that is called as AC supply.
AC means
Alternating Current . Polarity of AC
supply is continuously changes.
AC supply is further converted into DC by using filters in order to used for various electronics and other application.
AC can not be stored in batteries.
AC supply have frequency of 50 Hertz.
The machines which are operate on AC supply that machine are called as AC machines.
AC machines are : AC
Motor, Generator and Transformer we see this in details in another blog.
Now we know about
AC supply let understand what is DC supply.
3.
DC Supply :
The supply(current)
which does not change its polarity (direction) that is called as DC (current) supply.
DC means Direct Current.
DC can be pure DC
or pulsating DC.
DC can be stored
in batteries.
DC supply has zero
frequency.
The machines which
are operate on DC supply that are called as DC machines.
E.g. DC motor and DC generator.
